### Finding a Pet-Friendly Home: A Loving Guide for Pet Parents
Renting with pets can sometimes seem like a challenge, but there's heartwarming news for all pet lovers out there! According to a recent study by HireAHelper, nearly three-quarters (73.2%) of rental listings across the U.S. welcome our furry companions, whether they're small dogs, large dogs, or cherished cats.
Top States for Pet Lovers
- Colorado embraces pet parents warmly, leading the way with a delightful 86.3% of rentals open to pets.
- Minnesota and North Carolina follow with 84.8% and 83.2% of listings allowing pets, bringing smiles to many families.
Unfortunately, some places are a bit less welcoming. Hawaii sits at the bottom, where only a third (33.2%) of rentals invite pets. Rhode Island and Alaska have slightly higher rates, but still less friendly than we'd hope.
Cities That Adore Pets
If city life calls you, check out Austin, Texas where an amazing 93.3% of rentals welcome pets. Plano and Dallas also open their doors wide to our furry friends, making Texas cities some of the best for animal companionship.
By contrast, coastal cities, especially those in California like Bakersfield and Fresno, tend to be less pet-friendly, with Honolulu, Hawaii offering the smallest welcome at just 19.8%.
Love for Dogs and Cats
Different states shine with their love for dogs and cats. Colorado and Texas are top spots for dog lovers. For kitty cuddles, you'll find Minnesota and Washington standing out with the most cat-friendly rentals.
